A CLOSE friend of a Playboy model murdered 50 years ago has spoken of the moment she learned of her death, in a case police are still trying to solve.

The unforgotten Bunnygirl

Eve Stratford was 22 when she was raped and slashed across the throat in her flat on March 18, 1975.

Detectives found no sign of forced entry, leading them to suspect that Eve may have known her killer and invited him into her home.

In 2004 the case was linked to the murder of Lynne Weedon, 16, who was beaten and raped near her home in Hounslow, West London, six months after Eve was killed.

Lynne was forced into a fenced area around an electricity sub-station in an alleyway and repeatedly bludgeoned over the head.

She was found the next morning but died in hospital. Scotland Yard said yesterday that both murders are subject to live investigations.

Former Playboy bunny Sheen Doran, now 75, was one of Eve's closest friends. She said she was on Oxford Street when she found out her pal had been murdered at her home in Leyton, East London.

She recalls: "I was with a Bunny friend when we saw the Evening Standard poster saying 'Bunny Girl Dead'. We ran straight from Oxford
