Teen girl dies after being hit by scrambler

A TEENAGE girl died in hospital last night after being hit by a scrambler bike.

The victim, who is understood to be 16, had been in a critical condition after the collision in Finglas, west Dublin, yesterday afternoon.

However, she lost her fight for life while the adult male driver of the bike and a young passenger suffered lesser injuries.

The shocking incident occurred along the Ratoath Road between Scribblestown and Dunsink at around 2.20pm.

The girl was walking in the area when she was struck by the scrambler and the horror collision saw the driver and passenger fall off the bike.

Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene and paramedics began immediately working on the girl, who was critical on the roadside.
