THIS summer was the hottest ever recorded in Ireland, Met Eireann said last night.

The State forecaster said provisional data revealed 2025 had the warmest high season since records began in 1900 - and said climate change was responsible.
The average temperature of 16.19°C made it 0.08°C higher than the previous hottest June to August period in 1995.
