Still no answers for hit and run man's family one year on

THE family and friends of a hit-and-run victim killed in the early hours of St Patrick's Day last year have marked the first anniversary of his death.

Niall Mac Eneaney, who was 42, was left for dead on the side of the road in Drogheda, Co Louth, after being struck by a car registered to a serving off-duty garda.

Twelve months on from the tragedy no one has appeared in court although in recent days the Garda Siochana Ombudsman Commission announced it has completed an investigation.

It is understood that a file in relation to the incident has been sent to the DPP.

The hit-and-run took place on the Rathmullan Road - a minute's walk from the tragic GAA coach's home on the Highlands Estate.
