SHARP CUTS TO THE CHASE AS ROVERS GO UP

BILLY SHARP says his sixth promotion feels as good as his first after DONCASTER secured a place in League One with a 2-1 victory over third-placed BRADFORD.

Sharp (above), 39, stepped off the Rovers bench to score their second and said: “They get sweeter. I'm getting older but it's the same feeling.

“It's what you play for as a player and I can't thank this group enough.

“I wanted to try to get promotion because Doncaster were there for me when I had personal problems off the field.

“I owed this club and said at the start of the season I'd finish the business.”

PORT VALE also clinched promotion (below, celebrating) after a 2-0 win at AFC WIMBLEDON, with Jayden Stockley and Jaheim Headley on target.
