Two 40-point turns with partner Leonardo seal win | American Smooth and showdance wowed judges

- BY MICHELLE TOWNSEND

Rose to the top...

ROSE of Tralee Katelyn Cummins and her pro partner Leonardo Lini have won this year's series of Dancing With The Stars, after 11 weeks of thrilling performances.

The couple looked visibly shocked and delighted as hosts Jennifer Zamparelli and Laura Fox announced them as this year's champions.

It was a brilliant night in the ballroom as all four finalists performed twice in their attempts to lift the Glitterball Trophy - but only one celebrity could come out on top.

First up was Ireland AM presenter Eric Roberts and his pro partner Arianna Favaro, who danced their Week 6 Charleston to Happy by Derek Martin.

Scoring 40 points, head judge Oti Mabuse told them: "What a way to start the show. I loved seeing that number again, you attacked it with the same energy and precision. This was fantastic!" Next, singer Tolu Makay and pro partner Maciej Zieba recreated their American Smooth to Olivia Dean hit Man I Need, from Week 2.
