Pressure leads to meetings

LEAGUE of Ireland clubs are set to lead the way in talks with the Government over academy funding.

Shamrock Rovers boss Stephen Bradley revealed yesterday that he, on the back of recent comments, had been approached by several TDs, including some ministers, about a Leinster House summit.

Bradley said two weeks ago he would “absolutely” engage in direct talks himself if it helped boost the prospects of funding.

Yesterday he said: “Since I've spoken, I've had a few politicians reach out and want to meet and speak which is positive.
