Model leads charge as Audi's hybrid range gets a branding refresh
-
Audi has announced a new simplified naming strategy for its plugin hybrid models, with 'e-hybrid' replacing the existing TFSI e-badging.
The updated branding forms part of Audi's wider product offensive and is designed to make plugin hybrid models instantly recognisable to customers.
The first model to carry the new name is the Audi A5 e-hybrid, signalling the beginning of the transition across the brand's electrified lineup.
Audi says the move reflects growing demand for plugin hybrids as drivers seek flexibility between electric and petrol power.
Built on Audi's Premium Platform Combustion, the new A5 represents the next evolution of the brand's midsize car offering.
Alongside traditional combustion engines, the A5 is now available with plugin hybrid technology for the first time.
The e-hybrid lineup includes both Saloon and Avant body styles, catering to a wide range of lifestyle and business needs.
