Older people taking up apprentices

OVER one in eight apprentices taking part in nearly 80 courses are now 32 or older, a new national survey has found.

The survey, conducted late last year by the National Apprenticeship Office, received responses from over 5,500 apprentices.

It was sent to 28,734 apprentices across the country. Some 12.8% of respondents who are doing apprenticeships were aged 31 years or over.
