OLD FLAMES BREAKING RULES

This reboot of the popular Play For Today format from the 1970s begins with a glorious story starring Anita Dobson, Nigel Havers, Tracy-Ann Oberman and Nina Wadia. In Never Too Late, Anita plays free spirit Cynthia, who is mourning her best friend Marjorie. At the funeral she shocks her daughter Amanda (Oberman) with her refusal to behave like a frail widow.

But when Cynthia collapses, Amanda insists she move into Cedar Wood Retirement Village. Once there, Cynthia bristles at the village's rules (“no antisocial behaviour, no noise after 9pm”), but finds a rebellious ally in Mary (Natasha Williams), another resident.
