Mrs Brown's joys of Christmas specials
Irish Daily Mirror
|December 23, 2025
BRENDAN O'Carroll will keep writing and starring in the Mrs Brown's Boys Christmas Special for as long as the BBC want him to.
The legendary comedian is now 15 years entertaining the masses as Agnes Brown on the biggest TV night of the year and his contract expires in 2026.
He said: “I will keep doing it for as long as they want to. The BBC have indicated they want me to go on after next Christmas and if I do I will sign a one-year contract at a time.
“We have been doing this a long time, the viewers love it and we get the ratings.
“People forget that shows like Fawlty Towers and The Office only made 12 episodes - and here we are 15 years later doing this between the Mrs Brown's Boys miniseries every two years and annual Christmas and New Year's one-off specials.
