Emery will make me a better player... he's the reason I signed, says £30m star

MATCH MADE IN EVANN

ASTON VILLA's £30million striker Evann Guessand insists his best is yet to come - and has pinpointed Unai Emery as key to luring him to Villa Park.

The versatile Ivory Coast forward has joined on a five-year deal from Nice, where he scored 12 goals last season.

He has been closely tracked by the Midlands club over the last year.

Villa have paid an initial £26m, with a potential £4.3m in add-ons, to land the 24-year-old, who is confident working under ex-Paris Saint-Germain boss Emery can help him reach new heights.

Guessand said: "I'm really happy to be here. I was waiting for this moment for a long time and I'm excited to get started.

I have watched Villa's games in the last seasons. Emery is the person who convinced me to come here.
