MASSIVE GAMES ARE DECIDED BY FINN' MARGINS

GALWAY forward Robert Finnerty believes that Ryan O'Donoghue deserved two points for his giant free in last Sunday's Connacht final.

O'Donoghue's wind-assisted effort from some 50 metres in the 53rd minute of the game sailed between the posts but only resulted in one point being awarded to Mayo as Tribesmen goalkeeper Connor Gleeson was adjudged to have got a fingertip to it before it went over the bar.

It was contentious on two grounds; one that a slight touch from an opposition player shouldn't result in a two-pointer not being awarded, the other that Gleeson may only have made contact with the ball after it went over the bar.
