Kitching's maternity ward dash pays off in thrilling Sky Blues win

- BY JASON MELLOR

AFTER helping to safely deliver three points for Coventry, Liam Kitching dashed-off for an even more important delivery.

The Sky Blues defender was up all Friday night with his partner in labour but when the baby had not arrived on Saturday morning the 25-year-old was given the all-clear to join his teammates and play the full 90 minutes in a thrilling win.

Boss Frank Lampard revealed: “I've got to give Kitch such a shout because he’s shooting off now to go and see his wife.

“Kitch is a throwback. I gave him absolutely everything in terms of telling him to do what he felt was right for his family and being there. Hopefully it all goes to plan.
