Jeff: Ruff with the smooth if Roy comes in

ROY KEANE would “ruffle a lot of feathers" if he was to ever return to the Ireland dugout, according to former midfielder Jeff Hendrick.

- BY MARK McCADDEN

Hendrick won the majority of his 79 caps under Martin O'Neill and his high-profile number two, and starred at Euro 2016, Ireland's most recent appearance at a major tournament.

And he would love to see the Manchester United legend take up the number one job some day.

Hendrick has backed the approach that O'Neill (inset) and Keane took, saying they treated their players “like men" - and focused on their strengths rather than spending too much time on their opponents.
