Simms wants derby victory to help kick-start Sky Blues' title push

- BY JASON MELLOR

HERE WE FOE

ELLIS SIMMS reckons the “hostile” derby trip to Birmingham tomorrow is the perfect way for Coventry to get their Premier League push back on track.

The Championship leaders enjoy an eight-point cushion at the top, but have won just two of the last seven to give the chasing pack hope of reeling them in.

Ipswich are breathing down Coventry's neck after sealing a league double over Frank Lampard’s side in December.

But Simms has backed the Sky Blues to last the distance after being out in front for most of the campaign.

The former Everton striker scored his ninth goal of the season in the 1-1 draw at Charlton on New Year's Day.

He said: “We need to bounce back and hopefully get the win at Birmingham.
