Temps to soar after thunderstorms
MOST of the country will bask in glorious sunshine today with temperatures in the high 20s forecast all the way through to next week amid the heatwave.
Areas like Moneygall in Co Offaly and Longford Town are to be amongst the highest in the country today at 28C.
These are followed by 27C in Athy, Co Kildare, and towns like Ballinasloe and Cappataggle in Co Galway, but only 26C in Galway city and Letterkenny in Co Donegal.
