Busy comic Callan readies his festive special

RTE'S Oliver Callan has admitted he was apprehensive when first told about the Radio 1 shakeup.

In November, his show moved to 11am to 1pm and David McCullagh moved into his former 9am slot.

While the programme doubled in length from its former one hour, it wasn't that change that worried Oliver - it was whether the style of his show would suit a later time.

The broadcaster told RSVP: "I was apprehensive about the time change rather than the extra hour.

"I was thinking, 'can you still have that chat, monologue style, in the morning at 11 o'clock, and people had kind of found out everything by then.
