Defeat pushes Potter closer to the exit door but Bowen says players should take the heat

- BY STEVE JUDGE

WHILE West Ham fans were calling for the heads of the board and manager, Jarrod Bowen preferred to point the finger at the players.

Owner David Sullivan and vice-chair Karren Brady were the subject of a vote of no-confidence from the Fans’ Advisory Board, which represents 25,000 supporters, last month.

Just over 1,000 of them marched to the ground on Saturday to call for an “end to the BS” - Brady and Sullivan.

Then 78 minutes into this third straight home defeat of the season to a London rival, sections of the home crowd turned on boss Graham Potter (top).

But Bowen said: “I've been in football for about 10 years now, and every time you go through a rough patch, I think it’s important you look at yourself in the mirror.

Ultimately, as players, we're the ones going out there on the pitch week in, week out, and we can't have any excuses.

“We can have all the tactics in the world, but when we go out there, it's our time, and it's down to our decision making.
