EMMA RADUCANU suffered an agonising defeat at the Cincinnati Open in a grudge match with Aryna Sabalenka.

In arematch of their thrilling third-round clash at Wimbledon just a few weeks ago, world No.1 Sabalenka came out on top again after their closest contest yet.

The Brit, winner of the US Open four years ago, went so close to the biggest win of her career since then but the reigning champion edged it 7-6 4-6 7-6. They shared awarm embrace at the net after the three-hour and nine-minute battle, and Sabalenka told the crowd: “I'm really happy to see her healthy, mentally and physically.
