But when it comes to Irish strikers, they finally got their man in the summer of 2024 when Parrott's 17 goals in 32 appearances for Excelsior earned him a move from Premier League side Tottenham.
Despite his past difficulties with AZ, Connolly has enjoyed every minute of Parrott's time so far in the Netherlands.
"That was a different time, with a different owner there and things like that," he said.
