GOLF ace Shane Lowry has revealed how words of wisdom from his nine-year-old daughter - and a mystery fellow Irish sportsperson - helped him pick up the pieces after a shattering loss last weekend.

The Co Offaly man appeared to have another PGA Tour victory in his hands, holding a three-shot lead with three holes to play at the Cogizant Classicin Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

But two double bogeys opened the door for Nico Echavarria to steal victory.

Lowry, 38, the Open champion at Portrush in 2019, hasn't won an individual title since the BMW Championship at Wentworth in 2022, and found the water twice to blow his chances of Cogizant Classic glory.
