Dangerous driving cop 'remorseful'

A GARDA who pleaded guilty to dangerously driving while off duty, causing the death of a GAA coach, is “remorseful and regrets the manner he responded on the day,” a court has heard.

Michael Ball, who has been suspended from duty and was based at Drogheda Garda Station at the time, also admitted failing to keep his private vehicle at the scene of the fatal incident that claimed the life of Niall MacEneaney in the early hours of March 17, 2024 at Rathmullen Road, Drogheda.
