Cops 'serious about welfare of animals'

THE Gardai have insisted that animal welfare matters are "taken seriously" as they continue to investigate a road traffic incident involving a car and a horse-drawn sulky during a funeral procession on Monday.
It comes after we reported how footage emerged of the terrified horse crashing headfirst into a car as the sulky handler lost control on a Dublin road at the funeral of a road traffic victim.
