CONSOLIDATION (3.00) might appear to be out of form heading into Newbury’s TPT Fire Handicap but his form figures from his last two starts are misleading.

He didn't see much daylight when he needed it in a hot Goodwood handicap two weeks ago, having earlier run well when third home of the unfavoured far-side group in the Britannia Handicap at Royal Ascot.

His comeback victory at Goodwood in May had marked him down as a smart prospect with the potential to make the jump into group races.
