CIARAN'S GOAL KEY AS LOUTH DOWN' TYRONE
Irish Daily Mirror
|February 23, 2026
LOUTH LED from the start to pick up their first win over Tyrone in 32 years yesterday in Ardee.
A cheeky Ciaran Downey goal within 10 minutes gave the Leinster champions the confidence to push on for a famous Division Two victory.
Louth proved more adaptable to the terrible weather conditions - and returning home to DEFY Pairc Mhuire after two seasons was a huge factor.
The hosts had the wind advantage from the start and were determined to use it.
However, Tyrone opted to slow the clock down, going through long spells of possession to probe and get used to their new surroundings.
