ARTETA HITS BACK AT CLAIMS HE OVERTRAINS INJURY-PLAGUED GUNNERS

MIKEL ARTETA hit back at claims his players are "overtrained" after two new injuries hit the Arsenal squad.

Leandro Trossard was confirmed to have re-injured the same area which saw him come off against Bayern Munich, while Max Dowman suffered an ankle injury in a behind-closed-doors match at the weekend. As a result Gabriel Jesus has now been registered in the youngster’s place and has joined the team ahead of the clash with Club Brugge. But Arteta insisted it's not due to too much work on the training pitch despite claims from supporters and critics.

“No, because we don't train,” Arteta explained. “I mean, today we've done 20 minutes, so surely it's not because we overtrained the players.”
