Excited Coscoran vows to give final his best shot

ANDREW COSCORAN has vowed not to leave anything behind in today's 1,500m World Athletics Championship final.

For Coscoran, 29, it was the fulfilment of a long-held ambition to reach a major final and, having impressed in finishing fifth in a bunched semifinal on Tuesday, is determined not to let this chance pass him by.

The Balbriggan man is on an upward curve after coming sixth in the European Indoors 3,000m and World Indoors 1,500m earlier this year.

"I've been trying to make a world outdoor final for about five years," he said ahead of today's race at 2.20pm. "I've put a lot of work in and made some mistakes along the way but everything clicked.
