'92st man' dies after a kidney infection

A MAN who was once the world's heaviest person has died from a kidney infection aged 41.

Juan Pedro Franco, who at one point weighed 92 stone (590kg), died on Christmas Eve at a hospital in the central Mexican state of Aguascalientes.

Doctors confirmed he had died after his condition rapidly declined due to complications linked to a renal infection.

Dr Jose Antonio Castaneda said Mr Franco had developed systemic complications in the days leading up to his death.
