632 PATIENTS IN HOSPITAL FOR FLU

THE number of people in hospital with respiratory illnesses remains high, with 632 patients receiving treatment.

The HSE says influenza levels peaked before Christmas, though case numbers are still high.

In the most recent week up to last Saturday, 2,049 flu cases were reported, following 1,777 cases the previous week.
