As the flyover on Ganeshkhind Road is all set for reopening, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has started the process of constructing a grade separator at the Pune University junction to further ease the traffic flow on the busy road.

The proposed work also includes a connecting arm from Senapati Bapat Road to a double-deck bridge at University Chowk on Ganeshkhind Road. The grade separator will be 7.5 metres wide and 440 metres long, with a covered portion of 210 metres and an open length of 150 metres and 80 metres on either side. It will be heading from Shivajinagar directly to Aundh, skipping the Pune University junction. Traffic from Shivajinagar to Baner and Pashan will move from the double-decker flyover, while vehicles heading towards Senapati Bapat Road will take the existing road.According to Pune Municipal
