HULL RUFC played some exhilarating rugby and scored five tries but it was not enough as they went down 43-31 against Wharfedale.

Their Achilles heel of an adverse penalty count of 15-5 and two yellow cards proved obstacles too difficult to overcome.

Both sides took some time to settle but it was Wharfedale who struck first with a catch and drive from a lineout close to Hull's line after a penalty award saw them keep possession with prop Jake Armstrong being credited witht the try, converted by Jack Greig, after 14 minutes

Hull were soon reduced to 14 men when Josh Ratavuo was yellow carded for a high tackle and the home side took adavantage of their numerical superiority with Oliver Cicognini thundering over for a try converted by Greig to see the home side 14-0 ahead after 24 minutes.
