Timescale of work to futureproof roundabouts

WORK is set to begin early in 2026 on a scheme to “futureproof” two roundabouts in the Kingswood area of Hull.

The project will see improvements made at the Ennerdale Leisure Centre and Wawne Road/Bude Road junctions as part of the Kingswood Area Action Plan.

Initial works will start early in the new year, with a focus away from the roads, to prepare the sites. The main schemes are then expected to get under way in early March and be completed by the end of 2026.

Hull City Council has appointed Hessle-based construction company CR Reynolds to deliver the improvements. It follows the arrival of several new housing developments nearby in recent years with the projects designed to help increase traffic capacity in the area.
