Rowley left ‘numb’ by Salford's defeat

BELEAGUERED Salford Red Devils boss Paul Rowley admits he’s struggling to see any reason for hope as the crisis-torn club's position worsens.
They were on the end of a 80-6 hiding at Hull FC having only been able to field a patched-up side due to a relaxing of loan rules.
At one point, there was talk the fixture might be at risk as financially-crippled Salford desperately sold yet more players to keep creditors at bay.
Seeing captain Ryan Brierley and long-serving prop Jack Ormondroyd offloaded to Oldham on Thursday - the 12th and 13th departures so far - was especially hard on Rowley, who revealed he met some of his seven new loan signings on the bus on the way to the game.
Having been hamstrung by money issues since day one of the season after a messy takeover, it now looks like Salford will have to try to limp through the last six games.
