Pryce: I'm here for the long haul at FC
Hull Daily Mail
|April 23, 2025
Young gun Will Pryce admits he started to struggle in Australia, but insists Hull FC will see the best of him.
One of English rugby league's most exciting emerging talents returned from Down Under earlier this month.
Pryce spent 18 months on Newcastle Knights' books but made just five NRL appearances and was allowed to head home on “compassionate” grounds.
After signing a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Airlie Birds, he's had a real baptism of fire, being thrown straight into a Hull derby on debut in a Challenge Cup quarter-final.
After then helping John Cartwright's side win at Warrington, the skilful stand-off faced leaders Hull KR again in a pulsating top-of-the-table Good Friday showdown.
Hull lost both fiercely-contested tussles with their city rivals so they slipped to fourth.
But Pryce, still only 22, has already demonstrated some of the silky attacking skills that have earmarked him as a potential England star.
And he has no regrets about turning his back on the NRL to sign with John Cartwright's side.
