BUT TIGERS MUST KEEP FEET TO FLOOR
Enis Destan celebrates scoring a goal which helped Hull City beat Portsmouth to move up to fifth in the table
(TONY KING/GETTY IMAGES)
FEW people associated with Hull City would have predicted the Tigers to be sitting fifth in the Championship after 15 games of the season, especially given the turbulent summer.
City sit there on merit. It's no fluke, nobody's done them any favours, nor have they played a flurry of games more than anyone else in the league.
Sergej Jakirovic's side deserves to be fifth. They've played some wonderful football, and only Coventry have scored more than their 26 goals. Both the Tigers and Sky Blues have been the great entertainers in the opening three months of another captivating season.

It's nice to have a good buzz around the place
Regan Slater is on the cusp of a landmark occasion in his Hull City career, and it's a credit to his professionalism and dedication that he's once again become an influential part of Sergej Jakirovic's starting XI. If, as expected, Slater starts at QPR today, he will become the latest player to join City's illustrious list of players to have played 200 games in the Black and Amber.
