Man's mission to run 25 marathons in 25 days

|April 22, 2025
AN East Yorkshire man is on an extraordinary mission to run 25 marathons in just 25 days.
Sam Fletcher, 34, of Anlaby, will begin his challenge with the London Marathon, on Sunday, April 27, then run 24 more marathon distances, taking in the Newcastle Gateshead Marathon and the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon, on consecutive days. He is due to finish in his home city of Hull on Wednesday, May 21.
Sam's hope is to raise vital funds and awareness for Cure Leukaemia, a charity dedicated to funding groundbreaking blood cancer treatments and research.
This ambitious test of endurance is deeply personal for Sam as his mother, Yvette, has battled leukaemia for the past eight years.
Her resilience has inspired him to push his own limits in support of a cause that impacts so many families across the UK.
He said: “Cancer touches everyone in some way. I want to do my part to help fund the treatments that give hope to patients like my mum.
