MAY EXPLAINS 'TOUGH DECISION'
TYRONE May admitted it was a “tough” decision to stay on at Hull KR - but winning the Challenge Cup helped make up his mind.
The Samoa stand-off last night gave Robins fans the news they all wanted by announcing he has signed a new two-year contract extension.
That will keep him at Sewell Group Craven Park until the end of the 2027 Betfred Super League season. May, 28, has been a big hit since joining from Catalans Dragons ahead of last term, helping them to their highest-ever Super League finish of second and a Grand Final.
He then memorably produced the assist for Tom Davies’ match-winning try as Rovers won the Cup against Warrington on Saturday, ending the club’s 40 year wait for major silverware. May has also helped fire them to the top of Super League but there had been growing speculation he could head back to Australia in 2026 given his desire to link up with brothers Terrell and Taylan in the NRL.
