YOUNGSTERS HAVE SET OUT TO SUPPORT OTHER CHILDREN
A GROUP of girls from Hull have set their sights on helping a “life-changing” charity after receiving support themselves. They have formed a team as part of this year’s inspiring Lifestyle initiative, run by Humberside Police, and are focusing their efforts on behalf of Kids.
The charity provides vital play and social intervention sessions for children with disabilities, ensuring families have that little bit of respite and support from trained professionals.
The girls - Macie, Ellie, Maria and Autumn - who are all aged 12 or 13, have called themselves No More Mehhs for Lifestyle, a scheme that supports young people in making a positive impact in their communities each summer.
Becky, who is Macie's mum, said: “The girls are fundraising for the charity, Kids. This charity is a true lifesaver for some of the girls in the team, hence them choosing to support it.
“A number of the team have themselves had neurodiverse diagnoses, so they know firsthand just how much difference this support makes.
