WITH questions now being raised over Hull KR's energy levels following their defeat to Wakefield Trinity - and with the all-important playoffs looming - it's worth noting their current campaign mirrors, in some ways, Wigan Warriors’ historic Grand Slam season.
In 2024, Matt Peet’s Wigan side navigated a gruelling fixture list that included the World Club Challenge, a Challenge Cup Final triumph, the League Leaders’ Shield, and Super League glory.
Across that demanding year, Peet used 27 players in total. Hull KR head coach Willie Peters has so far used 26 players this season.
With the Challenge Cup already secured and a first-ever top-place finish in the Super League era within reach going into the final round, the Robins are in the midst of their most successful modern season to date.
