Great display of graft in biggest win

CITY GIVE THEMSELVES LIFELINE
Hull City breathed fresh life into their survival bid by coming from behind to beat Preston North End on Monday and ensure the Easter weekend ended on a positive note.
After losing in Swansea on Friday, Ruben Selles’ men fired back with a big 2-1 win over the Lilywhites to take a big step towards safety, thanks to a brace of second half penalties from Joe Gelhardt.
The Tigers have just two games left and could complete their great escape by beating Derby County in their final home game of the season on Saturday.
Here, City reporter Barry Cooper reflects on what is probably the biggest win of the season....
The biggest win yet
One nil down and jeered off, the knives were out for City, especially with results going the way they were.
To their credit, the players responded brilliantly in the second period.
So often weak at the start of the second period and guilty of conceding goals at their own end, City flipped things on their head by scoring one of their own and it changed the course of the game.
Once Gelhardt scored the first, the moments were largely with them and while Preston had moments, the Tigers pushed for the winning goal and probably deserved it on the balance of play - not that it matters at this stage of the season, as long as they win it, and they did.
