CARTWRIGHT OPENS UP ON FC'S FUTURE
JOHN Cartwright has confirmed that Hull FC are in talks with Brisbane Broncos halfback Jock Madden, as exclusively reported by Hull Live on Tuesday.
However, the head coach also conceded that the club have spoken to “a lot” of players as they look to strengthen their squad for 2026 and beyond.
The Black and Whites are targeting a final quota signing for next season, with the overseas extension passed by the RFL last week now allowing ten non-federation-trained spots per Super League club.
That has allowed Hull to sign Sam Lisone and James Bell and retain Liam Knight, all reported by Hull Live, with the club, which has one quota spot remaining, now setting their sights on a halfback.
The primary halfback target is understood to be Madden, a player Cartwright has worked with before at the Broncos during the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
"We've spoken with a lot of players," Cartwright said in his weekly press conference.
"There are a few spaces left within our roster, and there are a lot of balls in the air.
