Enforcement cameras to help tackle problem parking near schools

ENFORCEMENT cameras have been installed outside four primary schools in the city, Hull City Council has revealed.

It follows on from a successful trial at Parkstone Primary School.

Within this trial, the council said the school saw a 72 per cent reduction in vehicles abusing school parking restrictions.

As a result, the council is expanding the use of cameras to "deter and enforce illegal parking".

The new schools included in the expansion are St Richard's Voluntary Catholic Academy, Victoria Dock Primary School, Wold Academy and Francis Askew Primary School.

The cameras were installed on Monday, January 5.
