Delight as new facility opens at special school

A NEW state-of-the-art facility to accommodate more SEND pupils has opened in Hull. Ganton Special School now boasts two additional classrooms, two quiet rooms, and related amenities.

This expansion at the Anlaby Park Road South school will create up to 20 new SEND places, providing an environment specifically designed for these pupils' needs. Cllr Paul Drake-Davis, responsible for economic renewal, housing and organisational development at Hull City Council, said: "It was a pleasure to be able to see the new facilities at Ganton Special School, but more importantly, the pupils there who are benefitting from it.

"It’s a great example of the council working with partners to support pupils and their families where it is needed."

The initiative is in line with the council’s Hull SEND Strategic Plan 2024-2027.
