Bright new chapter in books battle

It is the National Year of Reading, and it speaks volumes about modern life that we need a government campaign to remind us books are a thing.

But this smart new series from Gary Lineker's Goalhanger company will be a much-needed ally in that battle.

Historian and author Dominic Sandbrook and podcast producer Tabitha Syrett are in charge, sticking their noses into some of our favourite stories.

The pair have worked together for years on Goalhanger heavyweight The Rest Is History with playful exchanges and spirited debate. Tabby has seamlessly crossed the table and is a natural in front of the mic, giving a cheeky, confident lowdown on the book, as well as the author's life, times and strange bits, and scoring each tale out of 10.
