Annual allowance for region's mayor approved by board

HOW much Luke Campbell will be paid as the Mayor of Hull and East Yorkshire has been signed off by the Combined Authority's Executive Board.

On May 1, the former Olympic gold medallist boxer, Mr Campbell, was elected as the region's first Mayor. At a meeting of the Combined Authority's Executive Board held on Thursday, June 26, members approved the annual 'allowance' that Mr Campbell will receive as Mayor.

Mr Campbell briefly left the room, in what was his second Executive Board meeting as Mayor, as the rest of the board approved recommendations that his allowance should be set at £72,000.
