Ramdev's 'sharbat jihad' remark shocks conscience, says HC

The Delhi high court on Tuesday slammed yoga practitioner and Patanjali founder Ramdev for his "sharbat jihad" comments made about Hamdard's popular drink Rooh Afza, calling them "indefensible" and saying they "shocked the conscience" of the court.
Ramdev also assured the court that he will take down social media posts and advertisements related to the comments in question.
The court was hearing a suit filed by Hamdard Laboratories, represented by senior advocates Mukul Rohatgi and Sandeep Sethi, seeking removal of an April 3 video in which Ramdev accused the company of "using its money to build masjids and madrasas," and referred to this as "sharbat jihad." Hamdard argued the remarks amounted to hate speech and were aimed at creating communal division.
