Women's blessings are my greatest strength, capital, and protective shield, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday as he underlined his government's various efforts towards women's safety, including framing of stricter laws to prevent crimes against them and adding a provision for capital punishment for heinous crimes like rape.
Addressing a huge gathering in Navsari district of Gujarat on International Women's Day, the PM stressed the importance of respecting women, calling it the first step towards the development of society and the nation. "India is now walking the path of womenled development for the rapid progress of the country," he added.
