BJP fields 3 Union ministers in its second list for MP polls

Three Union ministers and four other parliamentarians were part of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) second list of 39 candidates that was announced on Monday evening for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly elections Union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar was fielded from Dimani in his home district of Morena, Union minister of state for food processing Prahlad Singh Patel from Narsinghpur, and Union minister for state for rural development Faggan Singh Kulaste from Niwas, a constituency reserved for the scheduled tribes.

Ramachandran Four other members of Parliament Ganesh Singh from Satna, Rakesh Singh from Jabalpur Paschim, Riti Pathak from Sidhi and Uday Pratap Singh from Gadarwara- found a place in the list, as did senior leader and national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, from Indore-1.

Of the 39 seats, the Congress had won 36 in the 2018 assembly elections and the BJP three. The list includes five seats reserved for scheduled castes and 10 reserved for scheduled tribes.

The BJP also fielded six women candidates in the second list.

With this, the BJP has named candidates in 78 out of the 230 seats. The first list of 39 candidates was released in August.
