Fire tenders are transporting thousands of litres of water from the recently concluded Prayagraj Mahakumbh to all corners of the state. The districts will use it in different ways

- Team HT

LUCKNOW: Days after the Mahakumbh 2025 concluded with the Mahashivratri snan on February 26, the state government's fire tenders are transporting Sangam water to all the 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh for the benefit of those who could not go to Prayagraj to participate in the 45-day mega religious congregation.

The districts are using the water in different ways.

Chief minister Adityanath had announced that those who could not visit the Mahakumbh for a holy dip would receive Sangam water at their doorstep, the government said in a statement.

Following this, ADG Padmaja Chauhan had directed chief fire officer (Mahakumbh) Pramod Sharma to ensure that all returning fire tenders from Mahakumbh carry Sangam water to their respective districts. Fire tenders from all over the state were deployed at Mahakumbhnagar (a temporary district).

On February 28, around 300 fire tenders of 5000-litre capacity each started carrying the Sangam water in a phased manner to the respective districts from where it will be distributed to devotees free of cost.
